While looking carefully at the birds visiting my feeders I noticed a
'stranger'.
A large sparrow but not a young White-crown sparrow, I think from it's
markings it's this years young GOLD-CROWN SPARROW.
The usual suspects are here of course, WHITE CROWN SPARROWS, AMERICAN
GOLDFINCH, HOUSE FINCHES, CHESTNUT BACKED and BLACK CAPPED CHICKADEES,
ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD, a few ALLAN'S HUMMINGBIRD, BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS,
PACIFIC SLOPE FLYCATCHERS, a few surviving HOUSE SPARROWS, CEDAR WAXWINGS,
ROBINS, a RED-TAILED HAWK, a bunch of young WHITE-TAILED KITES, CROWS,
RAVENS, BARN SWALLOWS, TREE SWALLOWS and CALIFORNIA QUAIL.
The weather is lovely today, no heat waves here!
