Steve saw 2 kites out in the lowlands just east of Stanley lake. The 
adult was feeding the juvenal deer mice caught in this most recent 
aquisition to the land stewardship of The North Coast Land Conservancy.

[1]  White-tailed Kite: An adult successfully hunting deer mice and
     feeding them to a hatch year bird. There was probably a second
     fledgling kite in the Alders because the adult took another
     mouse over to the alders and disappeared for a minute and then
     came back without mouse while the 1st juvenal was still in
     sight. The Kites were in the lowland to immediate east of the
     lake (NCLC property)
