[obol] RBA: COMMON GROUND-DOVE: Curry Co.

Dear Russ,
	A dove thought to be a Common Ground-Dove was photographed about 6
years or so ago in southern Oregon (Jackson County, if I recall right).  The
photograph was circulated at Birder's Night at Audubon So. of Portland
within 3 months or so of the original sighting.  When I looked at the photo
it appeared to be a Common Ground-Dove to me.  Other birders at the meeting
who looked at the photo thought likewise.  Unfortunately, that photograph
has since disappeared.  If anyone knows where that photograph is or knows
the person who originally photographed that bird the OBRC would appreciate
receiving a copy of that photograph.  Does anyone from Jackson County know
additional details about this record?

Last month, Jeff Gilligan commented on the 6 different species of columbids 
on Terry Wahl's private sheep ranch in Port Orford seen this year.  Let's 
make that 7!!

THE SIGHTING:
Terry Wahl found a COMMON GROUND-DOVE (another potenial first state record) 
on his ranch yesterday afternoon (8/3).  Lois Miller was able to take an 
excellent photograph of the bird and hopefully she will post it to her 
website.

Terry asked me to post this to OBOL today and extends an invitation for 
birders to come view the bird on Sunday (6th)  from 9am to 10am pending the 
bird's continued presence.

BAD NEWS:
The bird was not seen today and may possibly be a one-day wonder.  I will 
post an update tomorrow on the bird's status and will include directions to 
the ranch if the bird is seen again.
