Add: Clark Park on Shirley St. in N.E. Molalla. If they aren't there they are close by!

  Don,

The most reliable Eugene area site would be the oak grove along the north
side of Royal Ave just east of Fern Ridge. Another, is on the east side of
Fir Butte road, also east of Fern Ridge and about half way between Royal Ave
and Bodenhamer Rd, just north of the Amazon canal. Both sites are private
land, and rejuvenation of these oak patches is a concern. I would like to
know of other reliable sites at this end of the valley.

  Hello,

I am compiling easy-to-access and find sites for Acorn Woodpeckers in the
Willamette Valley, from Eugene to Portland. I have Corvallis covered. I
am writing an article for the Neighborhood Naturalist newsletter fall
  issue, due out in September.

Please share your favorite sites that are easy for somebody unfamiliar
with your area to find and that has public access. For example, I suggest
the Benton County Fairgrounds and the adjacent oak grove east of 53rd.
Most anybody can find it and it's hard not to see a woodpecker there.

Thanks in advance. Sites will be published in the newsletter and
eventually on the web site below.
