[obol] Redhead Pond Fern Ridge Tues 8-8-06

Obol,
    A brief stop at the Redhead Pond produced multiple TRIKES, 1 juvenile
SEMI-PALM SANDPIPER, and a few WF IBIS.  Spotted Dennis Arendt and Dave
Irons who also got to see the birds listed.  Dennis mentioned an Oriole in
the marsh, must be a migrant.
   While out on the westernmost dike I noticed a VIRGINIA RAIL which was
swimming around in the shallows like a phalarope.  Very cool.  By the time I
got the camera out, I noticed a fuzzy little black baby with it.  That
counts as a Black Rail, right?:)
   Happy fall migration.
