Birded Ankeny NWR from 0900 - 1130 hrs today, walking the dike along Pintail Marsh to Mohoff Pond to scope shorebirds.  Highlights included:      1 BONAPARTE'S GULL - juvenile   1 SEMIPALMATED SANPIPER - juvenile      A decent mix of other shorebirds, including:      50-60 WESTERN SANDPIPERS, 
  40 LEAST SANDPIPERS, 
  10+ LESSER YELLOWLEGS, 
  30+ GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 
  15 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS, 
  1 PECTORAL SANDPIPER, 
  2 SPOTTED SANDPIPERS, 
  1 SEMIPALMATED PLOVER, 
  10 KILLDEER
