North Spit, Coos Bay, sunny, windy, no rain in the
past month making for very dry conditions with hardly
any water (or shorebirds), 8/24:

1- BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER (juvie, first one of the
fall- right on time)
2- BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS
40- RED-NECKED PHALAROPES

and a few fly-over peeps. In the AM I had a flock of
migrants in some willows, several 1st year Audubon
Warblers and an Orange-crowned Warbler, the first
migrant warblers, hoping for something unusual...

On 8/22 I saw the following:
2- LESSER YELLOWLEGS (8/22)
1- PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER (heavily molting adult,
counted exposed primary tips as usual)
180- RED-NECKED PHALAROPE

Es todo,
Tim R
Coos Bay
