[obol] Anna's Hummer display flight in Eugene

Let me preface this message by saying it is December 5, 2006, between 40 and
50-degrees (Fahrenheit) outside, and the sun is out.

 

I am located in downtown Eugene on the 4th floor of an office building, and
I look north toward Skinner Butte, the famous birding site visited by many
birders especially in spring and fall. I can see a couple of tree tops about
½ block away as they peek over the Smith Family Bookstore building just
across the alley.

 

An Anna’s Hummingbird is doing display flights over one of those trees as I
write this! My window is closed so I cannot hear the “TINK” at the bottom of
the flight.

 

Crazy!
