I visited your state this past weekend & found your listserv to be an
invaluable resource in locating target species. Your state certainly has a
very active cadre of knowledgable birders. Anyway, it's payback time for
me.

Brief highlights of my northwestern Oregon odessey were:

FALCATED DUCK at Coburg both the evening of December 1st & the morning of
the 2nd
Adult male TOWNSEND'S WARBLER at the south town limits of Lincoln City
December 2nd.
Immature SNOWY OWL on the south jetty of Newport harbor, much harassed by
the gulls whose cries brought its presence to my attention December 2nd.
A roadside covey of 6 MOUNTAIN QUAIL on Johnson Road in extreme northeastern
Washington Co. as described by Greg Gillson in March 2004 on December 4th.
The maturing EMPEROR GOOSE at Warrenton-Astoria Airport at sundown on
December 4th.
