[obol] Gulls Get Revenge

There was a beautiful sunset at the south jetty today....after climbing around
on the dunes a while (no snowy owl), I decided to find a good spot, sip my
coffee, and soak it in.

There was a large congregation of gulls at the gull puddle and I was very
careful to pull in slow and park way at the far end so as not to chase the
gulls away....I wanted to see how many of the immatures I could identify
without a guide....It was a relaxed serene scene with wide steaks of morphing
color across the sky and busy little ducks and grebes diving in the channel. I
was quite enjoying myself when all of a sudden this red car came zooming in
right through the gulls as if they were intentionally trying to run them over
and of course the gulls scattered everywhere...this is a pet peeve of mine and
I was quite annoyed but it got much worse...these 2 lower forms of Homo sapien
emerged from the vehicle with a sack of bread and began feeding the gulls
attracting the whole squealing flock back....but as they gathered them back
these idiots would charge through stomping, yelling, and screaming and chasing
them all away again...they repeated this a few times and as the gulls squatterd
and circled low above their heads, one of them covered his head while dancing
around and shouted, "no pooping allowed"...I of course was actively rooting for
the gulls to drop a big wet bomb on these morons...then as if their behavior
wasn't bad enough they started throwing rocks at my beloved gulls...hard and at
close range....with my blood pressure rising and resisting the impulse to
charge these wildlife bullies with a few rocks of my own, it happened....

splat....BIG splat in fact....right across the cheek, ear, and hair...and I
swear the rest of the large flock was laughing....there was definitely a lot of
energetic squawking and aerial acrobats going on....it was almost as if
Hitchcock and Larson had co-produced a scene...the rock throwing scumbags
left.....rather quickly.

Now, I am not normally a vengeful person, but in this particular instance with
those lower life forms messing with our gutsy gulls, the revenge was sweeeeeet
and so totally satisfying.

What the heck is wrong with people anyway? Sorry for the rant but grrrrrrrr...
