[obol] Newport May Have 2 Snowy Owls

I met a birder couple from Texas today at the south jetty in Newport who have
been camping at South Beach SP. Last Thursday they were walking the beach and
were treated to up close exquisite views of a Snowy Owl sitting on one of the
foredunes along the beach about even with the handicap trail. They accidentally
spooked it trying to get a closer photo and it flew north and landed on the
north end of the beach. It just so happens that the timing of this corresponds
to same time I was standing on the back dune seeing my "mirage" of a second
Snowy Owl...there was also one in a tree to the far east. Now the same Snowy
Owl could have flown from the north beach east to the tree and I could have
seen a "snowy owl mirage" as I originally thought but this is such a
coincidence with the timing, I'm wondering if we might have two and I really
did see a second one!!
