Yes, the grouse split means that all Blue Mountain-Wallowa Blue Grouse are
now Dusky Grice.
Through a last-minute pierhead jump, we were able to replace one sentence in
the Birds of Oregon account and add an overlay to the map showing this
change before the paperback reprint goes to the printer next week.
The book will also include one page of very brief paragraphs about another
dozen species added to the state list since 2002, and will have some typos
and a few errors corrected.
The worst of these is the last sentence under "general distribution" for
Hooded Merganser. This sentence, which relates to subspecies, actually
belongs to Common Merganser and we have no idea how it migrated.
We expect the paperback to be out in September.
