[obol] Croeni/Pinnacle Ponds - no shorebirds

OBOL,

I  soothed myself after an hour at Sunset DEQ with a visit to the  
nearby ponds at Croeni and Jacobson, about 11:30 am.  Not much  
happening there today besides the usuals, including a vocal Ring- 
necked Pheasant or two, Barn Swallows, Am. Goldfinches, Mallards and  
at least three Nutria.  Favorite sighting was of a Virginia Rail who  
fell for my tap-tapping of two flat stones.  It was seen near the  
railing below Pinnacle's parking lot and was quite close when it  
appeared, then disappeared after ascertaining that no other rails  
were in fact present.  I thanked him for showing himself and then  
departed.
