[obol] Bobwhite

This morning I had my Ornithology class out at Meadowlark Prairie  
(west Eugene). There were at least 2 NORTHERN BOBWHITES constantly  
vocalizing as we walked along the bike path. The first was just south  
and west of the footbridge north of the southeast corner near Terry  
St. and the second was west of the bike path approximately where the  
entrance from Roosevelt comes in. We never could see them down in the  
tall grass but they were calling for most of the morning. Obviously  
birds escaped or turned loose from domestic stock. I believe that  
eggs or chicks can still be purchased in some feed & seed stores. A  
very surprising addition to our morning walk.
