Circle Creek - 7/18/2006
I made a trip out to Circle Creek and had a look at Neal Maine's
photo of the BLACK PHOEBE. David Bailey looked at it last night
as well. Looks to be a hatch-year Black Phoebe which begs the
question where did it come from?
I did not find the bird this morning. Instead, I found a WESTERN
WOOD PEWEE chasing swallows in the same approximate location.
I also saw a female COMMON MERGANSER with 6 youngsters, probably
less than 3 weeks old.
Common Merganser 7 [1]
Rufous Hummingbird 1
Western Wood-Pewee 1
Pacific-slope Flycatcher 1
Steller's Jay 1

Barn Swallow 15
Chestnut-backed Chickadee 4
