I spent the last 2 days with a couple from Nashville, Tennessee and we
cruised the birdiest spots of Crook County.  We saw about 108 species and
had good success considering the time of year.  Here are the highlights:

2 White Pelicans - Ochoco Reservoir
1 Trumpeter Swan - Gutierrez Ranch
1 Wood Duck - Bear Cr. Rd. - Strange place but this is the 2nd year I've
found them here
1 ruffed Grouse - Ochoco Ranger Station - about 8 babies with a hen
2 Wild Turkey on FR 27 at top of Ochocos
3 Sandhill Crane - Gutierrez Ranch
2 Black-necked Stilt - Gutierrez Ranch
3 American Avocet  - Gutierrez Ranch
14 Black Tern - Gutierrez Ranch
1 Calliope Hummingbird - FR 27
4 Eastern Kingbird - - Gutierrez Ranch
6 Loggerhead Shrike - Various Locations
3 Green-tailed Towhee - Little Bear Cr. Rd. - Not east to find in this
county
