[obol] Coos Birds 7/27/2006

N. Spit of Coos Bay, late afternoon, sunny, wind only
about 20mph (down from 39mph the day before), 60's:

2400- WESTERN SANDPIPERS (all adults still)
100+ SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS (had 126 on 7/26)
30- LEAST SANDPIPERS (including my first juvie of the
"fall")
2- SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS (adults)
7- Dowitcher sp. (chased off by the peregrine right
before I could get good looks at them, also there was
an immature Bald Eagle hanging around- the peregrine
chased the eagle off after a while. Beforehand the
eagle was feeding on a dead gull.)
1- GREATER YELLOWLEGS
1- BLACK TURNSTONE
