We took the (probably last) dry opportunity to climb Spencer's Butte (So.
Eugene) before mud. The rains begin tonight. The only birdlife on the bald
top was a flock of juncos. We did have GRAY JAYS and a PYGMY OWL at about
the half-way point on the south-to-eastside trail. The rest was in the flat
area near the start of the trail. It was cold.
