I did not clock it, but the Burrowing Owl was on the east side of the road 
(the burnt blackberry was on the west side) and probably 1/4-1/2 mile 
further south.  There is a small clump of weeds by the roadside with a 
stick near the middle of it on which the owl was perched.  I don't know if 
any time of day is better than another but I was there about 1000-1040 and 
it remained perched the entire time.

I want to apologise to anyone that I threw off by announcing the 
burning of the Burrowing Owls hang out, we were going by the 1.1 
miles posting from Bethel Rd which on our car was the burning ditch 
area.
