In south Eugene, Ruby-crowned Kinglets have increased greatly in the past
week. I had my first Golden-crowned Sparrow in the yard on Sunday 29th.
Junco numbers have tripled around the neighborhood in the past ten days.

Just in case it is my signature lines, which vary from "eat more cat" to
politics and humor, that people are unhappy with, I apologize. They are not
messages sent to obol, they are appended to all of my messages to all
recipients. It is clunky to take them off of some but not all messages.

"I think we have an administration today that is dysfunctional. And if it
can't get itself together to organize a serious program for finding nuclear
material on its way to the United States, then it ought to be replaced by an
administration that can," - Richard Perle, former Reagan assistant secretary
of defense, former Bush appointee on the Defense Policy Board.
