Hi all,
On Friday a friend (Lynne McAllister) and I drove around Mt Hood on
Forest Rd 44 to Dufur, and then wandered south of there to Sherar's
Bridge and back to the Dalles via Wamic and Friend. On Dodson Rd. west
of Wamic and southwest of Pine Grove reservoir (after a right turn where
Dodson Rd. turns to gravel heading toward the game management area), we
encountered a flock of 5 to 6 Lewis' woodpeckers (LEWO) flying among the
oak trees.

Beyond that a few marsh hawks, red tail hawks, and enough singing meadow
larks to cheer things up!
Sandy Bryce
