I showed up in the area just after noon and intercepted Schmidt, Lillie,
and Gilligan. They said that they had seen an *****odd buff-faced
eclipse-male teal***** that was probably the teal that Patterson saw
reported and that was not right for a Green-winged Teal. The bird was at
the edge of the sedges/rushes, but disappeared before video equipment
could be assembled. It is likely that many teal are still eclipsed
within the emergent rushes.

So, it looks like THE TEAL is still around. The pools present yesterday
have drained, but maybe the evening storm will flood the fields again.

I saw some DOWITCHERS and HOODED MERGANSERS while I was out--oh, and two
West Highland Terriers.
