2 Common Redpolls seen in Nehalem Bay, Tillamook County, Oregon on November 23, 2006

A pair of Common Redpolls were foraging along the gravel road 
between the end of Bayside Gardens Rd and the northern end of the 
bay late morning. I first saw the pair fly down from the pine row 
east of the road. They hopped about the grassy edge of the road 
where I was able to photograph them. They then moved off into the 
clearing just to the west of the trench along the road and then flew 
toward the western edge of the clearing. I'm visiting the area and 
am uncertain as to the rarity of this species along the coastal 
beaches.
