This morning while walking near my friends' house just west of the North Fork of the Umpqua (on Woodruff Mt Rd) about 10 miles north of Roseburg, I saw a BLACK PHOEBE perched on the roof of an outbuilding. Also a COMMON MERGANSER and a SPOTTED SANDPIPER on the river. A RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET flashed its crown at me.
