[obol] Lakeview area birds

September 29 and 30, 2006 were spent collection bird data on a large privately-owned area about 20 miles north of Lakeview (Lake Co).  Was Juniper/Sage/Grassland (some Ponderosa pine) habitat with rim rock stretches; some springs and a small year-long flowing stream.  Species found were:

Townsend's Solitaire (many)
American Robin (many)
Northern Flicker
California Quail
Vesper Sparrow -1
Steller's Jay
Golden-crowned Sparrow - 1
Dark-eyed Junco (Oregon)
Mountain Chickadee
Black-billed Magpie
Spotted Towhee - 1
White-crowned Sparrow (many)
Yellow-rumped Warbler (Audubon's and Myrtle)(many)
Bushtit
Common Raven
Song Sparrow - 1
Northern Harrier - 1
Red-breasted Sapsucker
Clark's Nutcracker (likely migrants); 5 more seen next day
Chipping Sparrow
Ruby-crowned Kinglet
Cooper's Hawk
several 1000 in fly-over mixed species flocks of European Starling, Red-winged and Brewer's Blackbirds

Rock Wren
Barn Owl
Common Poorwill - 1 (seen, close up)
American Kestrel
White-throated Swift
Barn Swallow (likely migrants, with Swifts)
American Pipit
Golden Eagle
Western Meadowlark
