OBOL,

As mentioned by many, White-fronted Geese are on the move.

Greater White-fronted Geese arrive in the Klamath Basin in late August, with numbers building into the fall season, some over-wintering the Basin. However, while camping at Lava Beds National Monument last night, Oct. 1, I heard small groups (probably 40-60 in size) leaving the Basin all during the night. The movement continued through the morning with same size groups heading toward the Central Valley of CA (generally S-SW in direction).

Is anyone else aware of either a proposal or passed regulation for a general "Spring Hunt" on geese (I think both Greater White-fronted and White/Snow included, and may not include Canada... not sure) in the Klamath Basin? ..... as a result of agricultural take by the geese? I believe that it will be occuring only on private lands as a "hazing method", or that was my take on the reason for the hunt.

I know, might not be the place to bring up such a subject.
