David Fix forwarded the following report of recent rarities on Southeast
Farallon I. off San Francisco.
It has also been one of the best vagrant years ever in Humboldt County where
among other things they've had nearly double digit Chestnut-sided Warblers.

Greetings from the Farallons,
The following list comprises recent rare bird sightings from the
3rd -30th September 2006 on Southeast Farallon Island. The crew
included Jim Tietz, Matt Brady, Ryan Terrill, Jared Wolfe, Rob
Fowler, and Adam Brown.
1 Red-necked Grebe
3 BROWN BOOBY: Including a pair currently roosting on the island
14 Greater White-fronted Goose
4 Ruddy Turnstone
1 Semi-palmated Sandpiper
4 Baird's Sandpiper
3 Pectoral Sandpiper
3 South Polar Skua
1 Ring-billed Gull
30 Arctic Tern (9/26)
2 Short-eared Owl
4 Long-eared Owl
20 Vaux's Swift
1 ALDER FLYCATCHER: (9/8) Banded on 8th and last seen on 11th. The
bird was extensively measured, photographed, as well as videoed in
the field.
2 EASTERN WILLOW FLYCATCHER: (9/27 and 9/29) Two individuals were
banded. One on the 27th and one on the 29th. Both birds were
measured and photographed.
2 Least Flycatcher
1 PYGMY NUTHATCH: First record since 1969.

1 Cape May Warbler
