Hi Obolers!
We had a good count of raptors for this weekend considering the very nice
weather and decent thermals. We tallied a total of 210 raptors for both
days.
Many thanks to all who volunteered. We had a fun time!
For Saturday, September 30th:
Temperatures: 65-70 degrees with light winds(2-4 mph) and sunny skies.
Species:
Turkey Vulture: 5
Osprey 1:
Bald Eagle: 6
Sharp shinned: 73
Coopers: 14
Red tailed: 20
Rough legged hawk: 2
Golden eagle: 1
American Kestrel: 1
Merlin: 3
Unid accipiter: 3
Total birds: 129 raptors.
For Sunday, October 1st:
Temperatures: 65-70 degrees with light winds(2-6 mph) and sunny skies.
Species:
Turkey Vulture: 10
Osprey: 1
Bald Eagle: 3
Sharp shinned: 49
Coopers: 7
Red tailed: 9
Golden Eagle: 1
Merlin: 1
Total birds: 81 raptors.
