[obol] Applegate R. banding summary (JoCo)

Yesterday (10-10-06) a total of 13 species, 47 individuals were captured at the Applegate River fall monitoring station (just west of Provolt, Josephine Co); the list:

Red-shafted Flicker - 2
Black-capped Chickadee - 1 (recap)
Winter Wren - 5 (2 recaps; both banded as juvs on 10-21-03 & 09-27-05)
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 1
Swainson's Thrush - 1 (getting late, fat-laden juv. bird)
Hermit Thrush - 1
Wrentit - 4 (all recaps)
Cedar Waxwing - 1
Myrtle Warbler - 21 (large number of Myrtles at site)
Audubon's Warbler - 5
Spotted Towhee - 1
Song Sparrow - 2
Golden-crowned Sparrow - 1
Dark-eyed Junco (Oregon) - 1 (recap; banded 10-18-05 as adult female)

Others of interest:  heard VARIED THRUSH (not often at site), SHARP-SHINNED HAWK (juv) in hot pursuit a Cedar Waxwing (got away), noticeably less FOX SPARROWS at site this week (7 captured last week, none this time), RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS appear to have become a regular at the site now.
