I did a brief tour of the Tillamook area Friday morning. Best birds included:

at Bayocean Spit (close to the parking area)

White-tailed Kite
Black-bellied Plover (8)
AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER (1)*
American Pipit
PALM WARBLER

Brief stops at the Bayshore Oyster plant and Barview Jetty produced NO shorebirds. Eerie. The fishing boats in the mouth of the bay were bumper-to-bumper (gunwale to gunwale?) so I was not surprised by the lack of birds on the water there.

at Nehalem sewage ponds:

Greater White-fronted Goose (29) (in the meadow across the road from the treatment plant)
Long-billed Dowitcher (about 45 in two flocks)

* I tried really hard to turn this bird into a Pacific Golden, but the duller coloring and the four visible primary tips could not be denied.

Cheers,
