2 best birds:

GREAT GRAY OWL, hunting a creekside meadow at dusk
WILSON'S SNIPE, an unexpected find in a grassy bog at 5300', this bird appeared to be a weary BOY.

Just got back from a couple of weeks near the North Fork of the John Day Wilderness in the Umatilla NF south of Pendleton, so this list's not that timely. Various woodpeckers, especially Pileated Woodpecker, seemed especially abundant. Evidence of a productive spring showed in the large numbers of grouse (Blue and Ruffed) and Snowshoe Rabbits, they must be nearing a cycle peak.
