Dan and OBOL:

I first chased BUFF-Br. SANDPIPER at Coos Bay about 20 years ago, and several times since then, but never saw it. Today at the Redhead pond that jinx was finally broken. I found it there on Sunday, thanks to a couple of earlier birders who had it staked out. A very handsome and cooperative bird. Didn't have time to look for other stuff, but did notice some of the same shorebirds others have been seeing there, and the Virginia Rails out in the open probing in the mud.

We did not go over to the Redhead pond to check for other goodies on Sunday, but other birders were headed there so reports could be forthcoming..

  Good birding.
