[obol] Vanport Snow Goose

A very early Snow Goose was at Vanport Wetlands today. Per BOGR they don't usually arrive until the end of September. I wonder if this is the same one that wintered there last year.

At Smith and Bybee today the water level is still too high for shorebirds.  Though I didn't count, Jay Withgott's count of 497 Pied-billed Grebes seemed about right; they were everywhere.  The only surprise bird was a male Rufous Hummingbird by the boat launch area.

And a correction.  I had assumed the Phalarope I saw at Yachats this past weekend was a Red but it may have been a Red-necked.
