[obol] Fern Ridge Terns

Obol,

Daniel Farrar just called.  He is out on a boat in the Fern Ridge Res.,
probably 1/2 mile south of the dam.  He had a flock of terns, 30-40
strong, flying closely together and not vocalizing.  He thinks they are
possibly ELEGANT TERNS, as they appeared to be daintier than Caspians,
with primaries that were not as dark as Caspian's usually are, and the
bills appeared to be a lighter shade of red.  Being on the boat, he said
it was very difficult to get good looks as the flock was moving and the
boat was bouncing around.  While he watched they flew toward Gibson
Island, and then headed west toward the Long Tom Channel.  He's still on
the boat, may be able to track them down again.
