Hello folks,
It just occurred to me that, along with the interesting shorebirds and
terns on the Lane Co. coast this weekend, a flock of six AMERICAN PIPITS
in the dunes one row in from the beach at Sutton Creek (north of
Florence) on 2 September might be notable as recent arrivals (though I
think Phil Pickering had seen one a few days earlier at Cascade Head).
Also a SAVANNAH SPARROW was nearby, not sure if those are residents
there or if it was a recent migrant.
Full lists from Sutton Beach and several visits to Rock Creek beach are
on www.birdnotes.net under the link for "recent data."
Good birding,
Joel
