I spent Saturday 9th birding Florence with Graham Floyd. Best bird was Red
Phalarope (amazingly unwary at crab dock cove). There were Red-necked
Phalaropes in small numbers all over the place, otherwise shorebird numbers
quite low and scattered.
M Godwit - 4
Semi Plover - 9
Snipe - 5
Western Sand - 10
Least Sand - 10
Peep - 20
Dow - 5
Pectoral - 2
Greater Legs - 1
A few half-molted Audubon's warblers were along Dotterel Dike.
Very small flocks and singles of Am Pipit were moving steadily all day.
Fog limited birding at the jetties, but there were several family groups of
murres present.
TVs were moving down the ridgelines at several places in the coast range
this afternoon.
