Many of you in Central Oregon have been involved in one way or another
with Liz O'Connell's production of "Alaska's Coolest Birds". She has
shown this wonderful film at the Chicago International Childrens' Film
Festival, the Kids First Film Festival in Sante Fe, NM and won the
"Merit Award for Species I D" in the International Wildlife Festival in
Missoula, Montanta.
She has also entered it in our own Bend Film Festival, only to have it
REJECTED !! I urge all of you to please call Ms. Kati Merit at the Bend
Film Festival (388-3378) and ask "Why was it rejected?" Please, do it
NICELY ! If she is not there ask to leave a voice mail message. Not
only is this a local production, but it uses a wonderful local boy as
the narrator, local film crew, local photographer, local birders to
verrify the accuracy of each species and on and on. It SHOULD be
included in our very own Bend Film Festival if for NO OTHER REASON than
it is a LOCAL production and VERY GOOD !
We will be showing it here at the Crooked River Ranch Berders' Group
meeting on November 2nd with Liz giving the introduction, answereing
questions and offering DVD copies for sale.
Meeting starts at 7PM at the Senior Center (unless I can get a larger
venue). Come early. Seating is limited.
