Obol,
Daniel Farrar just called with an update from Malheur.
Tim Rodenkirk had a MAGNOLIA WARBLER at Benson Pond.
Duncan said there had been a BLACKPOLL and REDSTART reported recently
(probably at HQ, Daniel wasn't sure).
Alan and Daniel had an immature RED-SHOULDERED HAWK (with downy feathers
still on head) at Buena Vista. It was capable of flight.
And there is a reported male RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD south of Pendleton
at the feeder of Eric Skirvin. Daniel didn't have good directions yet.
Daniel said there is a video and still shots of the bird. Alan has seen
the still shots and agrees with the ID. Features he mentioned as evident
or known are a black notched tail, ruby-red throat, profile of
black-chinned, with emerald-green tone on back. Hopefully they will be
able to see and verify it this weekend.
Good birding,
Vjera Arnold
