OBOL;

Was at the River S unit of Ridgefield NWR this morning, 8:30-12:00. The male and female RUFF were both present and at times feeding alongside each other. Male is larger and paler then the female. Shorebirds moved around quiet a bit from each body of water on Rest Lake, so eventually seen from the blind or across Rest Lake. The RUFFS vanished by the time I left at noon. The SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER is associating with a small flock of PECTORAL SANDPIPERS, and it was still being viewed when I left. At one time we watched the SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER feeding alongside the RUFF. Not often you get to see that.

An immature WHITE-TAILED KITE was also present perched on a snag near the pullout just before the road leaves Rest Lake.

Good Birding
