Good Morning:

The YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS have invaded! Lots and lots of them around here
this morning. Also still several SAGE THRASHERS, AMERICAN ROBINS, our first
DARK-EYED JUNCO of the season, a few HOUSE FINCHES, several groups of
MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRDS, TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRES, AMERICAN GOLDFINCHES, CALIFORNIA
QUAIL, lots of WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS, and year-round MOUNTAIN CHICKADEES.

Earlier we had a number of ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS, more than we normally
see in the fall.

Last night we chalked up a new property bird - BARN OWL - as I drove up the
road.

AND, today's interesting guest - a NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD. This is at least
the fifth or sixth year of mockingbird sightings here at the house, ranging
from May - September, sometimes multiple sightings in one year. This is the
first September sighting and the second in 2006 (previously seen in August).

Happy fall birding,

Patty

Enjoying the warm dog-days of summer and cool nights, 5 miles west of
Hines - and hoping we get a few more days to keep the tomatoes ripening.
