[obol] Late Lazuli Buntings

Back in the days when I was just beginning to be a bird watcher, I placed my
first feeder ever up outside my house in Eugene (yes, I lived there
1989-93). The first bird that I saw at that feeder sat there for at least
15 minutes chowing down on the mixed seed. It's a good thing it sat there
so long because it really stumped me. A drab, light brown bird, the only
markings I could see were some lighter buffy wing bars. Poring through my
Audubon Western Field Guide, I kept on trying to match pictures with the
bird until I finally came across a picture of a female Lazuli Bunting.
Bingo! This was on November 8, 1992. I next saw this bird (presumably) on
March 31, 1993. It was the only Lazuli Bunting I ever saw at my feeders and
in my yard in Eugene.
