Obolers-

  Yesterday (9/27) I saw 5 or 6 TURKEY VULTURES in the Corvallis area, soaring around individually like any summer day.

  As for our yard, it's been very quiet for most of September.  Typical for this time of year, but man, it gets old.  We have 
started hearing VARIED THRUSHES in the woods.  And we heard SWAINSON'S THRUSHES passing over in the early morning dark.
