Obol~

I did a quick scan at the south jetty of the Umpqua River in Winchester Bay.
  There was a female LONG-TAILED DUCK & 2 BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKES in the
triangle oyster pond. On the ocean were many MARBLED MURRELETS (most in
winter plumage) as well as migrating RED-THROATED & PACIFIC LOONS. Unlike
Phil at Boiler Bay, almost all the Pacific Loons I saw were in breeding
plumage or nearly there.

Good birding,
Russ Namitz

P.S. The Nevada Himalayan Snowcock story is now up on the Nevada listserve.
