[obol] Satelite tracking of migrant birds

Fourteen Bar-tailed Godwits were followed by satellite as they  
migrated from New Zealand to China. At least 3 of the birds flew  
non-stop, about 10,200 km across the ocean in about 7 days of  
sustained flight. This is a new world's record for non-stop flight.

A little closer to home, Surf Scoter migration has also been tracked  
in western North America:
