[obol] Long-Billed Curlew, Whimbrel, Astoria

This evening while I was collecting some freshwater sponges in Peterson
Slough (south of Astoria about 5 miles, next to the L & C River), a nearby
LONG-BILLED CURLEW was noisily feeding with a flock of 14 WHIMBRELS and MEW
GULLS in a pasture, presumably on crane fly larvae or earthworms.  Lovely
sight and sound, especially when he was last seen flying and calling
ker-lee-ee! towards Seaside.
