Footnotes:

[1] First hatch = three small walking fluffs of yellow. Three
females still easily seen on nests.
[2] Female with nine tiny ones swimming very close behind and next
     to shore.
[3] One seen with twigs, perhaps trying to start a new nest in trees
north of the usual trees with six existing annual nests that a
red tail hawk is taking over. Claiming only one of the six but
not letting the herons in the others close by.
[4] Busily eating in the mud, walking in and around the grasses, in
2-4 inches of water. Didn't know I was there. Had a lovely
     time.
[5] Lots!
[6] One poor (looked weather worn) barn swallow on a snag.
[7] White and yellow throated types.
[8] Nice to hear them calling again ... not sure if their sound is
considered singing but I love it!

Total number of species seen: 39
