I checked out the high tide action at the Necanicum Estuary this
afternoon and found quite a few birds including a banded WESTERN
SANDPIPER - Right leg metal above the joint; yellow, green, yellow
below - Left leg yellow, green flag. The report site I had book-
marked isn't there anymore and the banding lab page doesn't handle
multiple colors, so anyone who knows the active report page, let
me know.

Necanicum list:
  Brown Pelican 935
  California Gull 1200
  Caspian Tern 400

  Pacific G-plover 2
  Semipalm Plover 185
  Baird's Sandpiper 2
  Western Snad 35
  Least Snad 1

At Seaside Cove there were about 1000 HEERMANN'S GULLS and at least
that many CALIFORNIA GULLS. Steve Warner tells me there's been lots
of feed in close and the ocean temperature peaked last week at a
truely too warm 65°F. It's dropped some with the NW winds of recent
days...
