[obol] Rats at the rhody garden

I agree that owl boxes would be helpful there and elsewhere in Portland. If
the boxes are put in the right place, Barn Owls should be easy to attract.
I have heard Barn Owls flying over my NE Portland neighborhood a few times.
I think all they need are boxes to start nesting in rat-infested parts of
town. Barn owls are not adverse to nesting in areas with a lot of people.
Perhaps you should contact the vector control agency for the county, the
city parks department and Portland Audubon. Someone in my neighborhood had
offered to put up a few Screech owl boxes at Laurelhurst Park. The manager
of that park declined because she didn¹t want boxes put on tree trunks.
