[obol] shorebird sites

OBOL:

Shorebirds are opportunists. On their southbound migration they have a
bird's eye view of the landscape and will drop in on seasonal wet places as
opportunity presents itself. A field that is flood irrigated might be just
the spot for them when other spots are either a) all dried up, or b) full of
water clear up into the weeds so that there is no shoreline.

A week ago Carol & I did a circuit around Linn county and found the
following:
Rice ponds on Gap Rd. south of Browsville -- overgrown with grass
Sewage ponds 2 mi NW of Brownsville -- full of water, no shore
Sewage ponds on SW corner of Brownsville -- under construction,
accessible, no fence, a few birds
Pioneer Villa ponds, I-5 exit 216 -- full of water, almost no shore,
very few birds
Snagboat Bend NWR on Willamette R -- muddy edge, overhanging willows, no
shorebirds
Dever-Connon area N of Albany -- winter sloughs are dry and full of
weeds or crops

Anyone know of good shorebirds sites? If you find such a site, please share
it.

Good birding,
