Obol,
Yesterday I failed to relocate the WF IBIS reported earlier in the day.
I did pick out 1 and probably 2 SEMI-PALMATED SANDPIPERS at the Redhead
Pond. They were in the south west corner (where the Trikes were last
year). There were relatively few shorebirds in the group. Maybe 10 LEAST
and 5 WESTERN SP. A few G YELLOWLEGS and a Dowitcher species.
Today at my MAPS station (located north of Amazon Canal in the Oak grove)
we had a nice busy day. Birds are clearly dispersing now. Migrants
included PAC-SLOPE FC x2, WILSON'S WARBLER x2, BULLOCK'S ORIOLE, etc. None
of which breed in the station, but do breed in riparian areas like Kirk
forest.
Happy Migration!
